Welcome to our Interventional Pain Management Clinic

Dr. Thomas R. Synek, MD is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Synek has been practicing medicine after earning his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical School-Houston in 2002. Upon completing his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Texas-Southwestern in Dallas, TX he launched his career in private practice. In June 2013, Dr. Synek and his wife Amanda, RN, opened Interventional Pain Management, a pain management clinic enabling them to better serve those living in pain throughout the Houston area.

Dr. Thomas Synek believes in providing quality healthcare, educating his patients and displaying a personable bedside manner. By conducting an extensive physical exam along with reviewing a patient’s medical history, Dr. Synek creates a successful pain management plan to help clients return to their active lifestyles. He believes that with healthy living habits and proper pain management, there is no limit to a patient’s success. His pain management clinic is convenient and the staff both friendly and helpful.

Our Mission

The staff and I are here for you, the patient. The design of this clinic is to offer a comprehensive treatment plan individualized for each patient. If you simply want education about your pain, and a good diagnosis, I will do that. If you have had several spine surgeries already, and are interested in a pump to deliver medications around your spinal cord, I can also assist with that. Above all we strive to bring dignity to the patient with pain, and to encourage those who wish to continue working despite being in pain.

Office Manager

Amanda Synek RN, BSN, earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas- Houston and is currently working on her Masters at Texas Women’s University in Health Systems Management. She has 14 years of nursing experience, most of which were spent in stem cell transplant at M.D. Anderson and Baylor Hospitals. Amanda started working with Dr. Thomas Synek in 2013.



Medical Assistant

Lulai was born and raised on one of the Polynesian Islands of American Samoa. After graduating high school in 2007 Lulai joined the Army, and still serves in the Army Reserve. Upon completion of active duty she began pursuing a career in medical billing, recently graduating from Everest Institute with MAA & MIBC certification. She joined the team in 2014 as a Medical Assistant and continues working toward her goal of an LVN degree.




Family Nurse Practitioner

Teresa Macleod, RN, FNP-BC is a board certified family nurse practitioner who earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas Health Science Center of Houston. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin. She worked as a charge nurse for the emergency center at Texas Children’s Hospital for ten years. After completing the family nurse practitioner program, she left Texas Children’s to work as a nurse practitioner for Sona Medspa. She loved her five years working in aesthetic medicine; however, she wanted to return to medicine. She decided to join our team in November 2017. She is a loving wife and mother of two and lives in the Spring Area.



Billing & Insurance

Debbie worked at Smith International as an Executive Administrator for 37 years until her retirement in May 2014. She joined the team in September 2014 and with the training provided by Amanda, and now handles billing and insurance for the clinic.
